Meet the Team

Pastor:  Chris Simpkins
  

Chris is our Pastor, he is married to Louise and Father to Leah and Malachi.  Chris joined the team at FBC in 2008 after graduating from Spurgeon's College, before this he was the National Evangelism Team Leader at Viz-A-Viz and also a Centre Director for YFC in Staffordshire.  Chris loves football and is an avid Liverpool fan!

Youth & Children's Pastor:  Simon Hall



Simon is our Youth and Children's Pastor, He is married to Theresa and has two children called Lewis and Scarlett. Simon joined FBC in April 2010 from Grosvenor Church in Barnstaple where he was the Youth and Children's Pastor there for 11 years, before that he was the Youth Pastor at Bedworth Christian Centre.  He has led many youth overseas missions plus has baptised over 300 young people in his ministry and even straightens his hair!!  Simon loves football, golf and tackling Jim and Chris at football training!

Church Leadership Team:

Paul Valler:

Paul is married to Helen and has 2 sons – Matt and Dave, and 2 lovely grandchildren. He has been a member of FBC since 1982 and served on the leadership team since 1986.  Having worked in industry in various roles for 27 years, Paul retired early in 2001 to give more time to speaking and writing and also to his family.  He is an associate speaker at the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity.   Paul has written a book on work/life balance and finds his life is so busy he has to keep re-reading it!

Rachel Roberts:
Rachel is the FBC Administrator.  She moved to Finchampstead in 1999 with husband Jonathan and they now have two daughters.  As well as serving on the Leadership Team, Rachel leads the Music Team and currently helps lead the Growing Leaders course.  If you have any queries about the church, please feel free to contact Rachel at rachel@finchampstead.com or by phoning 0118 9088160

Magdaleen Shotter:

Magdaleen is the FBC Treasurer.  She was born in South Africa but moved to the UK in 2001 and has lived in Finchampstead for the last 8 years with husband Jamie and their four children.  As well as serving on the Leadership Team, Magdaleen runs her own accountancy practice.   In her few moments of spare time, she loves to be outdoors or catch up with family and friends.
