Sian: In the morning we got up at a stupidly early hour to travel
with Egroni (driver) to Louise’s school, GDQ. We started the school day with two
assemblies for the kids, age between five and fourteen. They were getting very
into it, dancing to Matt’s songs and providing lots of willing volunteers!!!
Matt and Jim led separate drama
workshops for (English school) years one to four. They all seemed to enjoy
making a lot of noise and joined in with plenty of enthusiasm. This was
followed by “recess”, where we played football and “stuck in the mud” until we
pretty much collapsed on the floor with exhaustion!
After that there were several tasks
for some of us before we prepared for…. KIDZ KLUB ON TOUR!!! Which if I may say
was received fantastically by all of the 53 kidz who attended. We left the hall
in traditional Kidz Klub style with jelly all over the floor and a lot of hyper
kidz with sweets! It’s all good!! Master Jermemy, Scatty Sal Engelbert and the
team were very well received, especially the Ninja Penguin!
After GDQ, we had a meal out and
went bowling in a UV lit bowling alley which was pretty awesome!! We followed
this with a trip to the Sky
Tower, ice cream and a
revolving view of the city. Luckily for Jim, it had a lift.
All in all, yesterday was a fabbytastic
day; this week has been an amazing experience. As we prepare to leave, we are
all going to remember what we saw this week, the fun things such as Kidz Klub
and the harder things, like seeing the Roma people. Louise is staying out here
and she has really opened our eyes this week to more of the world around us and
we hope to continue praying for her and supporting her in the amazing work that
she does out here.
