In Uganda 2011
We have a team of 15 young people from Finchampstead who are off to Uganda!! . We will be based in Busu which is a very poor village right in the outback of Uganda. We will work at the local schools, the Suubi Clinic and the local Church. The work will include sports workshops, painting, building and landscaping at the clinic, teaching in the school, one to one witnessing plus a sports match at the village grounds which could bring up to 2000 people!!!
Can you imagine...
- ...holding a dying baby in your arms or watch a mother crying because she cannot look after her children?
- ...walking 10 miles to Hospital whenever you need treatment?
- ...being in labour and having to have your baby in the field, on the roadside, or in a market?
- ...growing up in a place where there are no toys, no footballs, no sweets and treats?
- ...growing up in a place where you lack the most basic things in life:
-
- food, clean water, safety, and a bed of your own?

- ...having to work in the field every day to grow your own food and also walk 10 miles to school?
- seening small children playing, knowing that their parents died and leaving them as orphans with HIV?
We aim as a youth group to serve this local village in any way we can - for example:
Take clothes out with us
Take toys out with us
Buy medical supplies for the clinic
Buy supplies for the building projects
As a church to continue to support financially and through prayer
Regulary send teams out to continue the work
Share and tell them about the love of God through dance, drama, puppets and simply telling them about the good news of Jesus.
