COMMUNITY Group
Purpose of the Role
Small Groups exist to help people grow spiritually through meeting regularly with others and building relationships. The role of a Community Group Leader is to create space for people to come together and be known.
Vision
To help people connect with others in a relaxed, friendly and open setting.
What is the role all about?
Community Group leaders facilitate a group of people to have regular meetings built around a social activity - sporting, creative, food, or hobby based. Ideally conversations about life and faith will naturally occur and the group will be a place where members provide care, support and encouragement to one another. This should be an open group and members should feel comfortable inviting those from outside the church to come.
Why is the role important?
We believe that connecting with others helps us grow in our faith. As a Community Group leader you can help people find and follow Jesus by creating an environment in which people can build friendships and be known by engaging in a hobby or activity. Community Groups also provide a place for Christians to invite others to, helping them to grow curious about faith.
