What is this role all about?
Share is all about ‘Caring more, wasting less’ and at FBC it is as much about caring for our community and creating a welcoming space as it is about the food. Our Tuesday morning share team, set up the tables, organise and check the food that has been collected so that it looks great on the tables outside the front of the building. They then welcome and support all the guests who come to collect food and ensure that the food is shared out with everyone and as little as possible is wasted. There is lots of conversation and laughter and the guests who come appreciate having people around to chat with on a Tuesday morning.
Why is this role important?
Around 40 people come and collect food from Share at FBC every week and without a team to set up the tables, sort the food and clear away afterwards we would not be able to provide this blessing for our community and stop all this food being wasted. We want to share God’s love with our community in a practical way and running Share is an important part of this.
