Vision
To create a safe, welcoming environment in which people can learn more about Jesus, and how to live out their faith in their daily lives.
What is the role all about?
Short Term Course leaders facilitate a group of 8-12 people to meet regularly for a limited period (e.g. 4-10 weeks), engaging with specific course material (e.g. marriage, parenting, hearing from God, singleness, bereavement, healthy spirituality, a book of the Bible etc)
Why is the role important?
Part of discipleship is growing in our faith and seeking to live more like Jesus. As a Short Term Course leader you’ll be helping people invest in their faith by making space for them to engage with specific material on a particular topic.
Who is this role for?
• A follower of Jesus with a growing faith.
• Someone who is keen to help others grow in their faith.
• Have group experience (ideally).
• Have the time, emotional capacity and moral discernment to lead a group.
• A friendly, open and supportive person who can welcome others in to the group.
What are the expectations for this role?
• Weekly gatherings plus any necessary planning, preparation, and communication between sessions.
• Keep what is shared in the group confidential.
• DBS and Safeguarding training as requested by FBC team.
