What is this role all about?
The Wraparound Team provides practical support to individuals who need help with a specific, one-off circumstance. This may include tasks such as providing a lift, helping with ad hoc childcare, meals or assisting with simple home or garden maintenance. The role exists to help people feel seen, cared for, and supported in tangible ways during times of need.
Why is this role important?
We all have times when we need some extra support and times when we can support others. Helping someone practically as a one off in a time of need, shows them that they are loved and valued and also gives the volunteer an opportunity to grow in their faith by being active in sharing God’s love.

What is the expectation for this role?
This role requires a commitment to safeguarding, clear boundaries, and teamwork, ensuring that all support offered is safe, appropriate, and focused on short-term, practical care.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to respond to support requests.
- Clarify expectations in advance, including what support will involve and any boundaries.
- Plan ahead to ensure all necessary resources, tools, or arrangements are in place.
- Communicate clearly with team members and coordinators.
- Provide practical help such as lifts, ad hoc childcare, or basic home/garden tasks.
- Carry out tasks safely, respectfully, and within agreed boundaries.
- Be mindful of the individual’s circumstances and treat them with dignity and care.
- Maintain a calm, flexible, and problem-solving approach.
- Submit expense claims for any agreed costs incurred while providing support.
- Communicate any concerns or safeguarding issues to the pastoral care lead.
- Ensure all activities align with safeguarding and team protocols.
- Complete the FBC Safeguarding training.
- Complete the understanding and maintaining healthy boundaries training.
- Read the guidelines and best practice for the wraparound team
- Read the FBC continence policy for ad hoc childcare volunteers
- Be available for ongoing support and oversight from the pastoral care lead
